Happy Holidays!!!

Hello lovely Zeta ladies!!!! Hope everyone is getting ready for an amazing Christmas. Just thought we would give you a quick shout out and let you know what's going on. We have just finished electing new positions for next semester and things are looking good so far. Your new Alumni correspondents are, drum roll please...... Reanna Antrim, and Kayla Messerole!! Yay. A big hi and hello from us to you!! We are really excited to be gitting in contact with the alumni. We are currently working on sending out the newsletters to all you zetas out there in the real world. We are missing a few addresses so if you don't get one in the next week or so and want one, please let us know and we'll send one out to you. If anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, or just random thoughts, don't be afraid to let us know. We are here to serve you!!!!
As for the sisters still lingering in Wayne America, we are very excited for Christmas break and very stressed, as is the norm around finals week. We are looking forward to the annual Christmas Party at Tacos n More on Monday. We are all pretty psyched about the guady christmas sweater theme we have come up with and we're anticipating laughing at each others winter wear. It's been a pretty exciting semester and we are all looking forward to the next one. We hope everyone has an amazing holiday season. Please be careful if you are traveling and be thankful for all you have this Christmas. Hope you all made Santa's "nice" list!!!
Merry Christmas!!!!!
Kayla and Reanna

Zeta...Tau...Omega....ROCKS!

Hello My lovely Zetas! Notice the side picture...great news! We once again pulled through and won Greek Olympics!! We also won the Spirit Award! Very exciting weekend here at Wayne State College! Let me just say we were all on our toes because the beginning of Greek Olympics was fairly tight! Katie Egan and Mikayla Parr pulled off the win with their amazing wheelbarrow race!
After Greek Olympics and of course Taco's And More, we had another successful competition winning second at Yell Like Hell. The Dance team got first, followed by Zetas, and then the new Step Team got third. Were thinking about putting our "winnings" towards a fun night for zetas. Saturday morning was of course the wonderful parade, everyone was nice and chipper :) at 6:50 in the morning, which was probably followed by a nice nap for a few! And yay!! Wayne State College won their football game, making it a very successful homecoming week!
Special thanks to to all the alumni that could make it out (hope I don't forget anyone...sorry if I forget you!!!) Jenny Kriens, Amy Hector, Meghan Anderson, Amy Smith, Nikki Wollesen, Erin Gaspers, Lacey Schwochow, Amanda vonSeggren, Deann Settles, Savannah Wissig, Brenda Semerad, Michaela Michalski, Kristen Blair, Amanda Gosnier...and anyone else I forgot!! We sang Lean On Me for all those who couldn't make it!
Now were just planning the rest of the semester away! Trash pick up is next week (lovely!) and then semi-formal just got underway so once again, busy girls! Hope you all are having a wonderful day and have an even better weekend!! loves!

Its been a while!

Hello lovely ladies of ZTO!

First we want to apologize because its been such a while since we've last posted, things have been crazy as ever at good ol' WSC!

But we do hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe summer! It went by quick! Our very own Abbie Klein got married to Aaron Powers on August 18th, and then they were off to New Bedford! Cross country! But Abbie is loving school (started grad school at darthmouth) and her and Aaron are nice and settled into their third floor apartment, if you want to know more give her a ring!

Rush start right away as usual, we got six wonderful new girls that seem very egar to volunteer their time and make the sorority a big part of their lives! More to come about them in a bit! Today is their first official meeting for zetas. The theme this year for rush was Celebrate with Zetas! Where each day was a different holiday with many different activities.

Lets see...homecoming is well underway and t-shirts are being ordered! If you need/want a t-shirt contact Jamie Krysl, she can get you hooked up, or just shout me an e-mail ASAP so we can get your order in. Katie Egan is in charge of homecoming, and its coming up shortly so were doing well with practice and such. I hope to see lots of you wonderful alumni there for greek O (5:00 p.m. on Steptember 28th) and then of course tacos 'n' more afterwards...and then yell like hell!!!! Yay!!!!

Thats pretty much all I have to update on (sorry its not longer) but thats Zetas in a tidbit. Send either Nicole Sabata or I (Katie Burns) and e-mail if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions!! Have a wonderful day!!!

P.S. Anna had her baby!!!! On Monday August 27th, a boy, Trent Easton. So send her and her new lil babe some love!

Update!

Hello Ladies! Hope this post finds you all well and enjoying your Sunday.

Some recent news, Abbie and Aaron set a wedding date of August 18th, 2007...coming soon! Look for more information in the minutes and on here about the place and such. Abbie is also headed to Boston in the Fall after her wedding, she will be attending Dartmouth to get her Masters.

Our very own Miss Jenny Kriens is graduating from UNL on May 5th with her Masters of Arts in Communication, Marketing and Advertising. So if any of you are going to be in Lincoln coming up soon, stop by and say hello! She will be having a Cinco de Mayo- Masters party at the Underbergs, following the ceremony around 1:00 p.m. At 1110 N 81st St. In Lincoln. Please call her to RSVP!

Speaking of Graduation (!) our very own Amy Smith, Meghan Anderson, Abbie Klein, Savannah Wissig, Ashley Weede, Nikki Wollesen, Brenda Semerad and Erin Gaspers will be walking across the Willow Bowl on May 5th, 2007 around 2:00 p.m. I know they would really appreciate some people here to cheer them on, if not, think of them in spirit!

Rachel Callaway-Ene made a surprise trip this last Monday to our Zeta Meeting. She is doing quite well despite the fact she just got her wisdom teeth pulled. She recently obtained her Masters degree in Family Consumer Science in one year, so Congrats to her!! Her and her husband are moving out to Maryland for a year because he had an internship...so if anyone feels like a vacation, go visit!

So you all might be wondering what Zetas have been doing?! Well lets see...formal was March 24th, it went off without a hitch! I would like to thank you all who attended, it was very fun. Formal was held in Fremont, Nebraska, so just a little bit different than in the past but still a very good attendance. All those who could not make it were very much missed and we hope to be seeing you soon. Hopefully I can figure out how to post pictures on the website so you can see a few of them.

Since Formal we've been on a very fast roller coaster headed towards study week and finals! We had a Zeta Bake sale in the library on April 3-5 to benefit Relay for Life. It went fairly well, making around $56. We also held a Easter Egg hunt for the community on that Wednesday (the 4th) for Wayne Community, and of course a Zeta Easter egg hunt the following Thursday.

Our very own Miss Abbie Klein had her senior gallery opening this past April 9th. Her show as amazing. She showed her Fair Lady Collection with her dresses made from mixed media. We were all very proud of her accomplishments.

On the 12th, four girls, Jamie Krysl, Mikayla Parr, Michelle Jones, and Katie Burns competed in the intramural track meet. It went very well considering it was only Zetas and Morey Girls. But since Morey had quite a few more girls, they won the meet..but not without a fight! That same night Zetas had a bowling social.

This past weekend Zeta Girls have been busy as ever! We had our Unity Retreat on the 20th and 21st at the Lutheran House, Abbie's mom, Chris Klien made a special appearance to help ups get it going. On the same dates, Relay for Life participated in the Garage Sale making over $300 to go to Relay! Despite the wind and warm weather they stayed out for quite a while! And closing it up, tonight we have our last active meeting of the semester at 7:00 before we head into study week, finals, and then finally....summer.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Bracelets

Hey Ladies,
We have been discussing ordering sorority bracelets in one or multiple colors. We are going to start researching but they will most likely have either our letters or Zeta Tau Omega on them. We wanted to know if any of the alumni or former sisters would like to order a bracelet or two. They should be under $3 (and pretty sweet). *they are the silicone bracelets, like the livestrong ones* IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, EMAIL ABBIE AT abirae_5@hotmail.com
thanks ladies & have a great night,
**abbie rae**

Weekend in Omaha

Hello ladies...
This is Abbie and I just wanted to let everyone know that Deann Settles threw a little get-together for sisters in the area this past weekend. Eleven girls attended as we went out to dinner and then to Billy Frogg's. Some of us then stayed at Deann's apartment (with her cat Dot) and stayed up till the wee hours catching up. In the morning waffles and eggs were served and the conversation turned to sisters on campus and ideas for connecting better with the alumni. Also, Anna Detlefsen (Stubblefield) announced she was expecting!!!! It was a great weekend and all agreed we need to get together more often.
(A BIG thanks goes out to Deann!!!!!)
